AdvancED District Accreditation-THANK YOU!
Josh St. Louis, AdvancED external team member said:
“I had a great time observing your classrooms and engaging in conversation with all stakeholders. You have great leadership throughout the district, starting with your office and extending to all sites. The tone of all conversations was respectful, and it was clear through those conversations that everyone's focus is on what is best for students. You have much to be proud of in your schools and community!”
Plattsmouth Community Schools (PCS) currently has district accreditation for our education programs through an international organization known as AdvancED. We utilize AdvancED for school and district improvement. More information is available at http://www.advanc-ed.org/.
Every five years, an external review team visits our district and assists with identifying strengths and areas in need of improvement. Our external visit was held from Mar. 6-9, 2016. On March 9, 2016, we received an exit report that contained a brief overview of strengths and areas for improvement. A full report should be delivered in April.
While the external team was here, they interviewed 293 stakeholders (community members, students, Board members, teachers, administrators, and other staff members). Thank you to everyone that assisted with our review. Your honest input helped communicate our strengths and areas for growth, as we continue on a path of continuous improvement. The external team is recommending that PCS be approved for District accreditation.
Keep up the great work. Go Big Blue!
Superintendent Dr. Richard E. Hasty
